Chapter 115 A Way Out

  • Serena narrowed her eyes as armed men moved wooden crates out of the warehouse. Each box scraped against the concrete floor as it was carried out through the door and into the waiting trucks. From where she sat, bound and sore, Serena could see Dom a few meters away, pacing about with his phone pressed tightly to his ear. His mouth moved quickly, and his expression remained hard, as if he were having an argument with whoever he was speaking with.
  • It had been hours since she had had anything to eat or drink. Her lips were dry, her belly growled occasionally, and the aching stiffness in her shoulders and legs made her want to scream. But she stayed quiet. She had to. Screaming would only draw attention.
  • She was too tired and hungry, and she hoped that she would be able to push herself to run when the time finally came. She had only one chance to escape, and if she failed, Dom could put a bullet in her head almost immediately. All she had to do now was come up with a good escape plan.
