Chapter 142 I Married Him

  • She stood in the hallway for a moment, trying to decide what her next move should be. She did not want to go home yet. The thought of being back in the house, surrounded by armed men and isolated like some pretty doll behind glass, made her stomach churn.   • The elevator hummed to life, descending slowly and steadily down the building. The air grew colder with each floor it passed. As the numbers ticked down, Serena's pulse quickened. Maybe it was a bad idea to go to the basement. Who knows what Adriano would do once he found out about it? He would think she was snooping around in his business.
