Chapter 116 I Love You

• Adriano remained rigid during the drive back to the cottage, with his fists clenched on his thighs and his jaw locked so tightly it felt like it might crack. He wasn't sure if the lead he got from Kostas would yield any results, and even if it did, he feared they would be too late.
• As the SUV pulled to a stop, Adriano stepped out, the gravel crunching under his boots as he approached the door of the cottage. He pushed it open and walked inside, only to pause at the sight of Love seated on the couch. Her legs were drawn up beneath her, and her arms were wrapped around herself. She looked unusually pale; even her lips were a very dull pink.
