• He stared at her for a long moment, his breathing ragged, before finally nodding. Even though it was clear he was not satisfied with her response, he had no choice. He could not force Trejo to help him, and now he could not get close enough to kill Adriano. He had hoped that dropping off those pictures for Serena would have been enough to distract Adriano from his search for the mole. But it hadn't. Now all his plans had gone to shit. He would have to leave New Orleans-maybe even leave the country for a few months.
