• Monica jumped when a figure showed up from one of the vans. Pointing the weapon at it with a stilled heart, she let out a sigh when she noticed it was Connor. He quickly reached her, staggering a bit, and fell on his knees in front of her. Monica gasped when she saw the blood from his lip and the obvious consequences from a strong hit on his head.
• “What happened to you?!” she whispered, still clutching the small device in her hand.
• “K-Keith punched me. I lost consciousness, but a scream woke me up, and I crawled to you,” he explained, breathing heavily. His eyes widened as he saw what she was holding. “The remote control!”
