Chapter 18

• Loud noises made Monica snap her eyes open, and she looked at the door. She quickly stood up from the bed and opened it, peeking in the hall. There were so many people running, all of them in the same direction. She frowned and sprinted after them. They, unlike her, were all dressed and fully aware something was happening.
• When they went out in the backyard, Monica gasped. There were at least fifty people gathered, standing behind each other just like soldiers. And maybe they were, but...
• She stepped in between them and quickly reached the front row.
