Chapter 69

• With a grunt, Monica snapped her eyes open. She was on a bed, her own bed, and was neatly tucked under the covers. Everything looked normal, the pastel blue colors of her room, the pink curtains, and familiar furniture. She felt like she had slept for centuries.
• What had happened? It all seemed like a dream. Like a nightmare Monica found the love of her life in. She huffed at the irony and tried to turn to the side, but sharp pain shot through her back, and she grimaced. Frowning, she touched it with a hand and found the scratches. But now they felt like they had been caused by a mere kitten, not a deadly werewolf.
• Then the voices from her living room appeared. Or she started hearing them. They were all familiar—Amely, Connor, Jared... Adam. Monica shot up on her feet, and ignoring the slight pain, ran to the living room. When she opened the door and found them all there, they turned to her and froze.
