Chapter 63

  • Before Monica could do anything else, the low thumping sounds behind her that she hadn't really paid attention until now, rapidly increased. It felt like they were going to smash her into a pancake. They were so loud and heavy, just like a hammer pounding on the ground.
  • Monica lay on the grass in surprise when she saw the source of the strong noises. Lycans. They were all sprinting either on four or two legs, their massive paws and claws leaving only destruction behind them. For a moment, fear embraced her as she wondered if they'd they attack her, but they blatantly ignored her and lunged at the werewolf that had left her alive. Removing her eyes off them, they found Connor. He was as shocked as her, and when the lycans ran past him, he slowly turned around to follow them with his gaze. The gun dropped from his hand.
  • The lycans attacked the soldiers and the wolves, extracting new screams and cries of pain. Her skin prickled, but she had no time to dwell on that. Now was their time. She had to find that man. If he wasn't already dead. A part of her hoped he was. If the lycans had caught him, and they had killed him, it was going to be much easier for her.
