Chapter 12

• The werewolf jumped at them, and Adam stepped in front of Monica, ready to meet the shifter. When the werewolf was just an arm away from them, Adam leaped to the side and took Monica with him. He slid to the ground, keeping her on top of him, and hit the wall.
• Two other wolves appeared from the windowless walls, and Adam gasped. His eyes grew. The werewolf turned to them, and his ears bent low to his skull. The two new wolves attacked him, and Monica hid her face in Adam's chest, not able to bear the sight. He put his hands on her ears and leaned on the wall.
• “It's okay. It'll be over soon,” he cooed in her ear, and for a moment, she couldn't hear anything else besides his husky, reassuring voice and the beat of his heart. She was practically lying on top of him and feeling every part of his hard body.
