Chapter 24

• Monica rose from her bed again and looked through the window. When she and Brian had arrived back to the pack house, and he parked the car, she was sure another vehicle had been following them. It had kept a fairly long distance from them, but every turn they took, it also took. It made her skin crawl, but she was hoping that her imagination was just playing tricks on her mind. Brian hadn't seen it. How could she feel something that an experienced werewolf wouldn't? It didn't make any sense.
• Staring in the darkness, her eyes narrowed when she saw a familiar figure, running out of the house. She whirled around and left her room, trying to follow.
• When she reached the garden, she frowned. It was empty. Of course it was, she was just a slow human, and he wouldn't wait for her. Monica was still angry about the way he had treated her and wanted to find him to vent. She knew she could tease and annoy him to her heart's content. If Adam tried to do something stupid again, well, the knife in her shorts was going to help her.
