Chapter 64

• When the sounds and grunting of fights quieted, Connor slowed down, and Monica almost fell on him. She let go of his hand and stepped in front of him. What she saw, made her lose her tongue. Her best friend was wide-eyed, his face pale, and his skin was sweaty. He looked out of his skin, shock written in his every feature.
• Monica took a step to him, but his panicky eyes found her, and Connor flinched. His mouth opened and closed a few times, and his whole body started shaking. Like a puppy staring at its murderer.
• “You...” His breath hitched. “You killed someone... And these monsters...” He lifted his hands over his face, but Monica could still see his round eyes through his fingers.
