Chapter 27

• When Adam eventually stood up and let coldness touch Monica again, she opened her eyes and looked at him. He was examining the place, his eyes narrowed. If he was human, she was sure he was going to have a deep frown on his chiseled face. A blush reddened her cheeks, realizing her heart was madly racing.
• Adam snorted and slowly stepped away, his head low. He was still scouting.
• Monica sat up, wincing at the pain her whole body was experiencing, and Adam glanced back at her. He jerked his head for her to follow him, and she stood up, staggering towards him. When she reached him, she put her hand on his back, trying to remain steady on her feet. Her strength felt drained out, and her limbs were almost out of control; almost impossible to move or feel.
