• Monica pushed Ilona to lean on the tree and lifted the weapon. She stared at it with a dry mouth, dreading the moment she had to use it. She had never used a gun before. What did she have to do? It had some kind of a safety lock, didn't it?
• “It's an automatic gun,” Ilona whispered, and Monica looked at her. She glared but remained silent. Was she trying to help? Could she trust her? She knew regret was swimming deep in her bones, but the streak of doubt still held on to her.
• “When you shoot, hold it in your two hands. You don't want to hit yourself with it, do you?” Ilona continued, and Monica furrowed her brows. She wasn't stupid.
