Chapter 68

  • When Adam bit into his already dead enemy once more, Monica tried to swallow, but her mouth was as dry as a desert. Her legs started pulling her forward, forgetting all about she had gone through. Forgetting about her pain. It was nonexistent. Nothing else mattered but the crazed man in front of her and the doubt whether his heart was still intact.
  • “Adam...” she called out when she reached him half-way. The wolf looked completely wild, his caramel fur was splattered with blood, bent over the already destroyed corpse. But... This was him, it had to be. She couldn't just mistake him for any other beast. It was the man that protected her through all of this, that used his own body as her shield and risked his life so that she'd be fine.
  • The wolf lifted his head from the body, his eyes narrowed in absurdity who had dared to call him. But when his gaze fixed on her, he dropped the meat, letting it hit the corpse. Stepping over the dead body, he started walking to her. The closer he got to her, the more she noticed he was slightly limping, and there were patches of fur missing all around his body. However, his eyes were dead-set on her. They were brightly contrasting to the redness of his muzzle, neck, and feet. His ears were proudly standing up, and his posture was authoritative, slightly arrogant, and proud. His every step came faster and faster, and soon, Adam was running towards her.
