• Monica was ready to jump for joy when she saw the house in front of them. It was an old farm surrounded by meadows and abandoned trucks. Her eyes examined it and its dark windows, and she wondered if there were people inside.
• “It's empty,” A. said and headed to the front door.
• She jogged after him and reached him when he broke the handle of the door with a single hand. Was she ever going to her used to his nonhuman strength? Well, according to him they weren't going to be together for long, so she wouldn't have to. Big deal.
