Chapter 98 Introductions Into The Badosa Pride

• Turner’s POV
• “Mate!” my mate Salma said. My mind was blown away. She could speak in lion form? This has never been heard of. Even the great Leo of the Badosa kingdom who had the ability to teleport and talk to any shifter could not speak in lion form. How powerful was my mate? I began to get so excited and Tim, encircled our mate, scented her and peed on her. I was getting scared at the back of my mind. How does Tim pee on a goddess-like lioness, licking her was enough. I wanted to curse him out in his mind when I heard Salma chuckle. ‘How is she happy about being sprayed with pee?’ I wondered. She then went ahead and did the same. It was kind of like they just marked each other. As werelions, we mostly do not mark each other like werewolves, our scents are strong enough to inform anyone who we belong to and it lasts as long as we live. This translated to or was equal to marking each other. My mate’s first shift ceremony went well and we all shifted back, gathered our stuff and went back to the shrine to finish off the ceremony. It was exhilarating and the fact that my mate was now a lioness was more exciting. Not that if she wasn’t I wouldn’t be excited. I would have been as excited as I was now. All we were left with was the hurdle of completing our mating and this was going to be determined by her heat. I was so nervous to think about it. I have never as much even held a girl’s hand, let alone think of kissing them. How on earth was I going to court her and invite her to my bed or go to hers? I mentally face-palmed every time I thought about this because it was giving me anxiety. I wonder what my mate was thinking about it. We rounded up everything in the afternoon and we got into a chariot to go back to the palace. We had not eaten anything the whole day as it was custom for us to fast when a newbie shifted. It was mandatory for every lion to fast for this occasion. We hadn’t had many of them because we hardly had people born without their lionesses who would shift at a later state. It was an occurrence that happened once in centuries. The girls and Lance all parted to go to their rooms to get ready for the mass dinner and introduction of the new members. This also was a revolutionary event because it was on in a lifetime. We hardly had new members except for a few that we heard of in the past who were mated to humans or other supernatural beings such as tigers. It had been centuries since such had happened. I went with Katty to her room and sat with her for a few minutes before I had to leave and go get ready. We still had a bit of time since the event was at sunset and one would say roughly about three hours were left according to human time. I wanted to talk to her about the mating but I was extremely nervous. Usually, I heard that lions did not even take time to mate and the females would get in heat as soon as they found each other and that would come naturally. It was not because I was eager to have sex but I wanted to make sure that we both know the expectations of being mated and what lies ahead of it. I heard that lionesses would become pregnant on their first mating. With the battle mentioned by the goddesses, I didn’t think it would be wise to mate. I know that the heat is a difficult time for females because when it comes, they really have to do it, otherwise it hurts or any other male may mate her and break the fate bond. I didn’t know how to start talking to my mate about that whole thing. We both were inexperienced and I was embarrassed about how I was even going to start the conversation. I scratched my head. I don't know how many times I repeated that action that was wrecking my nerves. It must have been obvious to her because she then said, “we are both nervous about it. I am as clueless as you but I guess goddess Selene will clear this for us,” she said and my eyes went wide. I didn’t know whether to be scared or fascinated . One, my mate could read my thoughts and two, she spoke about the goddess as if she had a direct line to her. Or maybe she meant that her father, the priest, would contact the goddess on her behalf. As I sat there baffled she responded again. “I can do many other things other than reading thoughts. I can get into someone’s mind to force them to confess, but of course I’m not allowed to use that one on my mate and I can only use it twice in a year, so you are safe,” she said. “As for the thought reading, I have finally learnt how to control it, so you shouldn’t worry that I’ll always intrude into your thoughts,” she responded and I fell in love with this girl right in front of me over again. “I do have direct contact with the goddesses,” she smiled jubilantly. Wow! I had a powerful mate, one suited with the role of a female lead warrior. I smiled back because she answered my question. “But they both said it at the shifting ceremony, didn’t you hear them?” she asked and I remembered that she was right about it. They said so. “We will know when I come in contact with them again,” she continued and I nodded. “Thank you my love!” I boldly said to her and I watched as she blushed, I chuckled as I went towards the door. “Get ready for the introduction dinner. This is a rare occasion, so dress up, look pretty,” I said as I turned around after getting to the door. She blushed again and I closed the door behind me. 
• She was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen in the whole universe! How can one person have all this beauty and is mine? I watched her boldly trot towards me as her friends went to join the royals table. She had my scent and no single female dared look her way though I was there. I was in love. The King stood up and did the Introductions. My mate and her mother were called forth to the podium and shown to everyone. “Turner, come here son!” the King called and I went up, along with me Priest Mayi was called forth. “This here is our female priestess, Priest Mayi’s mate and this is her daughter, Katty who is Turner’s mate.” He then turned and said. “This one is my mate, your queen!” Shouts erupted as everyone stood and bowed before the queen!
