Chapter 71 The Deal

  • Patricia’s POV
  • Damon sent me a text message to let me know he had arrived and his location the following morning. I told him I was going to attend my lessons as usual because I didn’t want to look suspicious in case he managed to eliminate our target as quickly as possible. I didn’t see how this was going to be a problem because this time around, Lucy was not guarded by the lions like the last time that she was. She was oblivious to the danger that was coming towards her and I loved that. The more vulnerable, the easier to get rid of her. I kept stealing glances at her and smirked when I saw her naive self totally oblivious to the fate she was about to encounter when she gets sent to her early grave. That’s if she would even have one. I smiled internally. Thank goddess that we were left with just a few days for the mid-semester break of two weeks. It's a good thing because I would be able to hide at home and no one would suspect that I was involved in her assassination. I went to see Damon as soon as my lessons were over. He was lodged in some cheap hotel in the city somewhere in a not so comfortable part of the city. I've never understood why assassins like such places no matter how much money they get paid. I knocked on his door after checking to make sure that no one was following me. He opened after the second knock and I didn't even wait to be invited in as I pushed past him. He darted his head out, I guess to check who or what was pursuing me? I found a not so enticing couch in the corner and plumped on. "Well, hello to you too princess," he said mockingly. Yes I didn't greet him, I really didn't have time for that. I came for business. "Let's get on with business so I can get out of here, I don’t wanna be seen around such places. Walls have eyes and ears,” I said and he sighed. He sat down and asked, “so what can I do for you this time around?” I looked at him and issued a warning first. “I hope that this time you will not connect me with dummies who will fail me and disappear. Sometimes I think you did that deliberately,” I said pointing a finger at him, giving him a stern look. “Princess, you know that I did exactly what you wanted me to do, I have no connection with those guys and I have never laid my eyes over them. I would have personally gone to collect your money back if I knew them,” he said dejectedly. I knew he was being honest so I let go of it. I took out my phone, sent him Lucy’s picture and told him this time around, I want this done for real and I wanted it to be him. I warned him not to double cross me by hiring anyone else, I wanted it to be done by him. We agreed on the payment and I transferred half of it to his fake account number to avoid tracing the money back to me in case something went wrong. I draped a scarf around my head and left the hotel, driving back to the University but I stopped first at some restaurant to get food.
