Chapter 49 Passing Through The Giants’ Territory

  • Lucy’s POV
  • I wondered what he meant. He swiftly removed his shirt and gave it to my aunt. “Rub this on your face, arms and legs then put it on top of your clothes.” He was almost a giant at 7feet and we looked like midgets before him. When aunt put on his shirt it was like a maxi dress. I chuckled at that sight. Aunt pouted and that threw me and Lance into a gag as we laughed. He rubbed his hands all over my face and arms, then unexpectedly threw his arms around me, tightly hugging me. I was surprisingly very comfortable in his arms. The hug got a bit too extended until aunt cleared her throat. Heat went up my cheeks and I instinctively cupped my face. Auntie removed his shirt and handed it back to him and walked ahead, clearly pissed off. He looked at me with apologetic eyes. I guess he was feeling guilty. I shrugged and followed Auntie. He paced forward and led the way. His long legs made his paces feel like he was running, we barely caught up to his pace without breathing too heavily as if we were jogging. He shook his head and tried walking slowly, which was still the same.
  • We approached the gate and Lance stopped to speak with the guys away from us. These guys were real giants and scary. They were literally about 10feet tall and must have been weighing somewhere between 600 and 800 pounds. They spotted long braids and were wearing leather thongs barely covering their front, leaving more to the imagination. ‘Phew!’ They kept glancing at us for what felt like forever. After some time, I don’t know how long but it felt like thirty minutes, he came back to us and said “let’s go, we got the pass.” Aunt and I released the breaths we didn’t realize we had been holding for long. As we went past them they whistled at us. “Nice little mate you got there prince Lance.” One of the guys said with a funny accent. “Prince? You are a prince? I thought you said you were a guard?” Aunt couldn’t help but ask. I also wanted to know the answer but I wasn’t that keen, I wanted to know the answer to the statement the giant made. “And what do they mean by mate?” I asked confused. He shook his head and said, “don’t mind them, they blubber too much.” He said that in an attempt to dodge and push the issue under the rug. I committed it to mind to ask for explanation later. We went for a few miles across the territory. I wondered how long it was until we reached the border of the Lion kingdom. I was lost in thought until I felt a big hand grip my waist and pushed me behind a huge and broad back. I peaked from behind his back and saw a giant, bigger than the ones at the boarder. He wasn’t so good looking, he was huffing and puffing in front of him his breath causing leaves to shake. It was as if he was making his own whirlwind through his breath. “Are those humans prince Lance?” He bellowed his voice thick and dense. If he was human it would have been husky.
