• After I explained to Abie that Shawn came from an Alpha background. It seemed as if she was going to have a heart attack! She mumbled something about the bathroom and ran to it! Mom looks concerned and asked, 'Is she alright?' I shrug slowly, not really knowing what to tell her. She finished her phone conference with her Gamma and stands next to me. "What happened?" She asks. I huff, irritated. And snarl, "That damn Beta happened! I don't know if she will ever get over her fear of him." Goddess, I hate him for what he has done to her! Mom gives me a warm hug. It helps to calm me.
• "She has us if she needs us. Remind her of that, okay?" I nod. "Yes, Momma." She cups my head, kissing my temple as her phone rings off the hook again. "I love you." She whispers, smiling as she goes to take her call. I smile, making the heart sign with my thumbs and index fingers. I was replying to emails when Abie came out of the bathroom. She seems a little better, but I still asked, "Are you good?" She reassures me that she is and I smell the determination coming from her. I don't believe her 100%. But we have a lot to cover today. And I still have lots of my own work to tackle.
