Chapter 93 Open-up Continues

  • Craning my neck, I took in the vast, dark blue space sprinkled with pulsating diamonds that glowed with a brightness that was unmatched across the town. The stars had taken their places, and Orion's Belt was among them, sparkling like little jewels I could almost reach up and grab from the sky. Choosing the brightest star, I concentrated on it until it flickered like a flame, trembling with the wind and the bending trees.
  • I lowered my gaze to the desolate park, spotting an older man strolling his dog and a lady jogging. Apart from the trees that opened into the woods, a few kids our age were smoking, but other than that, the only things keeping us company were the rustling leaves and scuttling squirrels.
  • I kept glancing at Tyrone, but we sat silently for a long while, eating potato chips and looking up at the sky. Half his face was shadowed by the moonlight, highlighting his prominent jawline and protruding cheekbones. My eyes locked onto his mouth, focusing on the way he muttered to himself in a low tone while naming every star and reciting constellations from memory that were absurdly accurate. I grinned at what a bright, adorable little child he used to be, remembering all the astronomy books he used to have when we were younger.
