Chapter 166 Memory Loss

  • A flicker of light slipped through a crack in my slats, illuminating my right eye and obliterating any possibility of dozing off again. Not that I wanted to anyhow - I had done too much of it two days after being confined to my room because of the scam Tyrone and I pulled.
  • The nurses phoned my mother when she was at home, asking to make sure she was okay and to change her clothes. She made it to the hospital in a flash, but happily, Tyrone returned me to my room just before Mom, in a panic, became enraged. Since I claimed to be asleep, the lecture was postponed until yesterday morning, but we got off lightly after I chastised Tyrone for being careless.
  • My head hurt just now, but the medication dulled the pain from the stabbing. Dr. Quinn stated that I had experienced severe brain injury, but the exact degree of the impairment was unknown. My vision, hearing, touch, smell, and speaking all felt flawless. After the accident on my tenth birthday, my vision was terrible to start with, but it hadn't gotten any worse.
