Chapter 55 Favorite
- Peeking up at the blue sky, little puffy white clouds dotted the endless void, creating the impression that the wind was much less than it was. The fifth graders playing on the climbing frame were surrounded by crisp, golden brown leaves that scuttled along the ground. The breeze brought their booming laughter towards us.
- We had made three laps around the park on the same cobblestone route when we arrived at the abandoned swing set. Although the park was largely empty, a few children could still be heard yelling as they ran around. I pushed by Tyrone and hurried to the swing on the left, taking advantage of the fact that no one was using it. I eased my bike into the rubber mulch and settled into the seat.
- I pushed myself away and smiled sheepishly at him, his sea-green eyes following me with amusement.
