Chapter 185 Farewell

  • I piled my college-bound belongings into Tyrone's room. Even though we had until tomorrow to go to our new school, I was eager to finish the quick flight. Driving for four hours was a possibility, but if I wanted to prevent a third collision at all costs, there was no way I was going to sit in a car for that long.
  • I spent the morning in a restaurant with my mother, obligingly nibbling at my food while she talked endlessly about how much she would miss me. I grabbed the chance to head over to Tyrone's place as soon as she had to go back to work, and there we were, lying back on the freshly cut lawn in his garden, staring up at the clear sky. He didn't seem to be saying much until I was able to get him to come out of his reverie. It came out that he was deeply afraid of moving away from the town to live somewhere else for an extended period of time without his sister.
  • I lifted my head off Tyrone's lap and said, "I have an idea," as my eyes strayed to the kidney-shaped pool. The sunlight's exquisite glimmer on the pristine seas captivated me. "What if you had to say goodbye to Taylor? You know...like properly."
