- My world blurred as cool palms grabbed my cheeks, forcing me to look at him through a coating of tears. His features flickered as though my head was underwater until all I could see, even with blinking, was his tanned skin and two sea-green blobs.
- Tyrone said softly, "I'm not mad at you, Sera," even though he was distressed. His touch was so delicate that it made me lean into his hands. "I'm just pissed off you didn't trust me with such a big part of your life. I always thought grief was something we had in common and that it strengthened our relationship.
