Chapter 20 First Attempt
- We had a much better start to our second cooking class than I had anticipated. It was nice, for a while, that Tyrone didn't ignore me or just lounge around all day.
- We got together in the grocery store closest to Hillcrest High School, and by "we," I mean Tyrone who followed me around the entire time with his hands in his pockets, we looked through every aisle looking for additional ingredients for the meal. I concluded that it would be best, to begin with the most basic dishes, work our way up from there, and then add strange flavors to see if we could invent our spin and make the recipe more interesting.
- Tyrone was standing over me at the register, an unsettling presence. I had the immediate want to tell him to get out of my bubble as his sneaker tips brushed against my worn-out Chucks. All I had to do was back away from him and I would have collided with his chest. Even the heat radiating from his body made it difficult for me to resist indulging in the decadent aroma of his aftershave.
