Chapter 33 Cake Tasting

• All of a sudden, I was bending forward with my entire body, smashing onto the fourth step. I let out a short, terrified scream that reverberated throughout the room as I spread my arms to protect myself. As soon as I face-planted the wooden steps, a set of arms came out around my waist and tugged me back hard enough to send me reeling backward. It would have hurt less to crash against Tyrone's extremely hard chest than to crash into a brick wall face-first.
