Chapter 90

• The attack by the rogues has left me shaken. Although part of me doesn’t want to admit it Cody has a point. The only ones who knew our whereabouts were the council which means there must be a traitor in our midst. Somebody who fed them the information. Unfortunately, all of the attackers were dead, so we had no way of interrogating them. At least not anymore. I frowned as we entered the castle, my eyes scanning our surroundings, even as Lilith appeared out of nowhere, her eyes dancing.
• “My Queen” she said respectfully bowing her head, “how was your visit? Did you get anything important out of the mistress?” she asked, fully knowing where we had been going.
• I motioned for her to follow me, turning back to Cody whose eyes were hooded. “Give me some time to get my second in command up to date and then I will come find you.”
