Chapter 52

• It was him. The man I had dreaded facing once more, the man who haunted my dreams. It was none other than the Alpha Leon before and I could only be grateful for the fact I had disguised myself even though he claimed I was familiar to him. As Beta Rick escorted me to the room, he had a severe look of disappointment on his face. I glanced at him questioningly and he paused, before forcing a chuckle to come from his lips.
• “It appears the Alpha has somewhat of a liking for you,” he said easily as I almost gaped at him.
• Had it been that obvious that the Alpha had been my previous mate? Or was he referring to something else? Because no matter what, I would never in a million years, allow myself to be persuaded to touch that man, let alone remain close to him. The pain of the rejection so many years ago still stung and I was no longer that naïve innocent young girl I once was.
