Chapter 66
- The tunnel is deep and winding. I suspect it doesn’t go underneath the pack house but rather runs alongside it. I can feel the dirt beneath my feet, inhaling dust as I walk slowly, my hands guiding me as I use the walls. I have no idea if I am using the right method let alone if I am going in the right direction, but I trust that the tunnel has to come out somewhere. There is no light. I am entirely in the darkness. I cough, feeling as though my lungs are drawing in smoke and continue to press onwards, wondering if this is the smartest course of action, but I am curious now as the tunnel seems go for ages. Where exactly did it finish and where did it lead to.
- “Damn it. How long must it go for? Surely there is an exit” I mumbled “or have I gone in the wrong direction?”
- It felt as though I had been walking for miles and miles. I stumbled and screamed when I felt a hand on my shoulder. What in the hell. I turned blindly but he spoke before I could.
