• “When are you going to tell him?” Lilith’s voice breaks through my concentration, causing me to put down the piece of paper I’m currently perusing to give her a sidelong glance, confused by what she is referring to.
• Tell my mate what exactly? Was there something in particular that she was alluding to?
• She exhales and shakes her head, plonking herself down into the nearest chair, looking entirely too comfortable for my liking. Then again, me and Lilith had been best friends since we were small and I never expected her to bow down to me, despite my title. It was refreshing having somebody treat me as normal, except for my mate that was. Everybody else seemed worried they would either anger or upset me, almost walking around me on tiptoes.
