• I could sense my mate’s nervousness as we approached the castle, the flickering sconces on the walls somewhat intimidating. There was security everywhere and as our car approached, it was immediately halted by several guards in uniforms.
• “State your purpose” the man in charge drawled.
• My mate shifted awkwardly in his seat, glancing at me but I was prepared for this. It was normal for security to prevent anybody from entering the castle. I straightened my shoulders. “Charisma Goldberg, Lycan Queen, here to visit King Julian” I answered calmly as the guards glanced at each other, “I believe he’s expecting me.”
