• The alarm was blaring as Iris reached for her phone to turn it off. Stretching her limbs, she swung her feet onto the floor. After only a few hours of sleep, it took her a moment to gather the energy to get off the sofa where she had dozed off. In the middle of the room, Jayden was sprawled out, groaning, “Five more minutes!”
• Iris smirked as she glanced at the time: 6:10 AM. She got up and grabbed the clothes she had planned to wear for the trip to the courthouse. Feeling sluggish, she shuffled into the washroom. Turning on the water, the room quickly filled with steam.
• The hot water cascaded over Iris’s stiff muscles as she closed her eyes, allowing the warmth to envelop her. Mentally, she prepared herself for the next revelation about her identity--a shock that would take everyone by surprise. It was a risk she was willing to take if it meant saving her people. This decision would also serve as a silent declaration of war; the O'Donnolys had targeted the wrong family, and she would not stand idly by while they attempted to destroy her bloodline.
