• Everyone who was to attend the meeting pooled into the small office. Iris and Alpha King James are standing beside each other. Iris waited until he was seated. If there was one thing Iris’s grandmother had lectured her on, it was making sure that the Alpha King sat before her. Thought with the emblem around her neck gave her the same rank as the Alpha King. This was his home. So she would give him that much.
• With the laptop in front of her, Iris made sure her phone was on mute. However, she made sure she could see the screen. If a call needed to be answered, she would disrupt the meeting.
• Thirty-nine minutes into the meeting, the screen displayed that her father was calling. “I have to take this!” Iris swiped the screen and placed the call on speaker.
