Chapter 30

• The moment Iris and Alpha King James walked into the dining hall, everyone stood to their feet. With new faces joining the table, Iris moved to the chair between Prince Mael and Jayden.
• No one sat until Alpha King James took his place. Chairs scraped the wooden floors as they motioned themselves closer to the table. The moment that Alpha King James sat down, the kitchen staff served him first, followed by an order of ranks. The whole time this was going on, Iris had to control her heartbeat. However, she could clearly see Maximum and Prince Mael’s human form. She could see the shadows of their wolves. Both of their wolves stared angrily at Jayden. Both of their wolves growled as they bared their teeth.
• Iris found this odd since, to her knowledge, Jayden had not done anything to upset either of them or their wolves. The other question still lingered in her mind. She had yet to receive an answer from her grandmother. Why was she able to see their wolves and not others?
