Chapter 20
- In the middle of the foyer, Jayden was speaking with three other Alphas who had attended the meeting. With a smile on his face, he was enjoying the light conversation they were having. A complete opposite of how he had interacted with his father. Jayden had seemed more relaxed and less tense. Prince Mael smirked to himself. ‘It appears Jayden is scared of my father!’ he thought to himself as he internally laughed. Seeing firsthand the effect, his father tended to receive not only from the public but also from a few family members who had grievances with what was going on.
- Gaining Jayden's attention, Prince Mael motioned with his hands so he could follow him to a private location. Where he could speak freely without anyone listening to their conversation. Once they were in the corner of the foyer, “The trial has begun.” Prince Mael did not see why he should stumble over words, getting straight to the point. “Things are not looking good, according to the report that Max gave. The defendants are showing no mercy to the witnesses. The children’s welfare worker had to step in and remind them of what they are allowed and are not allowed to do.“ He had decided to omit the part of Iris telling Maximum that the judge was being paid off to show the accused favour regardless of what the jury says.
- Jayden whispered a string of colourful words. as he motioned his hands through his hair. “Things can't get any worse!” he muttered.
