Chapter 48

• Iris was sitting in the apartment lounge, scrolling through social media outlets while waiting for Jayden to leave the Alphas meeting. She watched the live broadcast of the court case. It had been Mr. Dawson’s turn to prove that his clients meant no harm and that the allegations were misintentional. Iris snorted as she placed her phone down on the table, needing a break from all the comments and stupidity.
• Turning so that she could see Jayden stroll into the location. “How did things go?” his tone showed that he was still upset over their argument.
• Glancing at her phone, she said, “The public is ripping apart the case. Something I was prepared for. As for how did I do, I think I have royally pissed the O’Donnoly’s off.” Iris motioned her sight to Jayden. “The defendant didn’t have much of a chance to rip me apart like he did with the other witnesses. I don’t know what I found more amusing, the bottle flying into my hands and drinking the water. Or the fact I destroyed Mr. Dawson with C- 8- 51.” Iris continued to smile, “And then there was the dick measuring contest O’Donnoly, and I were having the whole time I was on the stand. The media is having a hay day with that as well.” She took a deep inhale.
