Chapter 17

• A screen had been brought into the courtroom. It was clear to Alpha Black O’Donnoly that they were going to protect the witnesses to the fullest. He glanced at the people who were seated to the right of the courtroom. Instantly, he understood they were the witness's parents or guardians. His face had soured. Glancing over at his son, he gave Art a single nod. In the crowd, there was still one witness. One he could control. Alpha Black O’Donnoly’s eyes landed on the form of Iris O’Brian.
• His son’s oldest offspring, the one who got away. Alpha Black O’Donnoly bared his teeth as he thought about how he found out about the situation that had landed him here. ‘This is a minor setback!’ He reminded himself of this when he studied the 20 year old female. ‘She is nothing like William.’ he was critiquing her.
• Iris could feel the burning cessation in the side of her head. She refused to move an inch. Not allowing a twitch from any muscle in her body. Iris continued to glare forward. Never taking her eyes off the judge. Only blinking when there was the need.
