Chapter 34

• For two hours, Iris went over the files that had been sent. Listening to all of the recordings that her cousins had gathered while they were keeping an eye on things. Glancing at the time, “11:33!” she closed the screen to the laptop as she stood up. Stretching her limbs, she grabbed her phone. ‘Get ready to move the family to the safe house!’ she typed out to her father.
• She went over to her belongings, kneeled on the floor, and ran her hands over the secret compartment of one of her suitcases. Opening it up, she brought out her weapons. Examining them carefully. A wide smile grew on her face. Pulling the blade out of the sheath, “It has been a while since you have tasted the blood of an animal.” she said as Iris slid the blade back into the sheath. She tucked it back into the secret compartment.
• Turning her head to the door as if someone had been trying to get her attention, Iris made sure that the compartment remained hidden. She stood to her feet, motioning toward the door. “Hey, can we talk?” Paul pushed his way into the apartment.
