• Paul was in the control room when Maximum and Prince Mael barged in. “Where is Iris?” Prince Mael demanded, his tone harsh.
• Paul pointed at the screen. “She’s in the apartment, freaking out while she talks to her grandmother.” He laughed. “When I say ‘freaking out,’ I mean she’s fixated on the fact that it’s two of you against one, and she can’t believe she didn’t see the signs.”
• Maximum and Prince Mael pushed Paul aside and turned up the volume to listen in on Iris’s conversation.
