Chapter 51

  • Time seems to stand still in the next second. Not only the earth shatters, but also the glass from both cars. Shards of glass fly everywhere, cutting anything in their path. The warriors lunge for their enemies as I watch Harvey’s blood slowly drip from his stomach. Jason goes for the two men behind Harvey as he falls. The storm and my tears make it hard to see clearly. Robert grip on me tightens, but I push him away. Surprisingly, this time he is thrown back by a shower of glass, some of which luckily pierces his throat. The wind is so strong that leaves and other debris swirl around us, making it difficult to make out anything. Suddenly, the rumble of a car is heard and the other four warriors arrive. They quickly shift and Jason orders one of them to go help Harvey.
  • When the shock finally wore off, I rushed to Harvey’s side. By the time I got there, a small pool of blood had already started to form. "No, no, Harvey," I cried, desperately trying to stop the bleeding with my hands. Tears clouded my vision, so I tried to wipe them away with the back of my hand, now soaked in his blood. He was losing too much blood and I couldn't make it stop.
  • I ran to the car and grabbed my phone. Scrolling through my contacts, I found Olivia and hit the screen over her name. I then rushed to the trunk of the car and pulled out a large scarf. Olivia finally answered as I tried to put pressure on the wound with the scarf.
