Chapter 18

• I was winning until I realized the whole room had gone quiet and I was the only one speaking. Harvey's usually gray eyes had been replaced by golden ones and a powerful aura seemed to be radiating from him, making everyone around him tremble. I noticed that almost everyone had left the room, leaving only Harvey , Tyler and Jason, who had apparently arrived with Harvey . Even Alice had abandoned me. Both Tyler and Jason had their heads bowed. Harvey suddenly lunged at Tyler, grabbing him by the throat and pinning him against the wall. Tyler was trying to say something, but he was having difficulty. Jason just stood there, looking helpless. I ran towards them and tried to pull Harvey away from Tyler, who was struggling to breathe.
• "Harvey! Let him go, he can't breathe!" I shouted.
• As if coming back to reality, Harvey dropped Tyler to the ground and his eyes began to flicker between gold and gray. He pulled me into his arms and whispered, "Mine." His gaze was still fixed on Tyler. I was shocked and confused by what I had just seen. I tried to pull away, but his grip was too strong.
