Chapter 12

• I still haven't mustered the courage to stand up from where Robert had left me. I'm still in shock, pondering what could have happened if Harvey hadn't come in time. This thought stirs up emotions within me that I never thought I'd feel; fear, powerlessness, and vulnerability. It's a situation I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The dark thoughts of what he could have done if he had succeeded in kidnapping me bring more tears to my eyes and I remain there, crying.
• I see Harvey walking over to me in my peripheral vision.
• "Hey, are you alright?" He asks in a gentle tone as he stops next to me. I look up at him, my vision blurred by tears.
