Chapter 20

• In a few hours, the ceremony will be starting and I'm still lazing around. If I don't get ready soon, I won't make it in time. I finally muster up the energy to get up and jump in the shower. After I'm done, I brush my teeth and dry my hair. I decide to curl it loosely. I put on minimal makeup, with a light smoky eye and a nude lipstick with a slight pink tint. I slip on the dress I bought yesterday and put on some silver heels. Just as I'm about to finish, there's a knock on the door. I can smell Harvey before I even open the door and when I do, I'm met with his handsome face. He's wearing a black tux with a white shirt and a black bowtie. His hair is combed back and his face looks freshly shaven. My heart starts racing as I take him in. It's infuriating that he can make me feel this way and still be the most annoying person I've ever met.
• "Are you ready?" he asks, bringing me out of my trance.
• "Yeah, almost. Just a sec," I reply as I run back to find some earrings. I pick out a long, silver, dangling pair and quickly put them on.
