Chapter 39

• I hurry back to the common room to find that no one else has had any luck either. Alice points outside and I follow her finger to see Matilda walking around barefoot next to the pool. I rush out, but I'm too late. She jumps in, shouting, "I'm the king of the world!" I stand there in shock. Matilda notices me and grins. "Come join me, harvey," she purrs. I shake my head. "It's freezing cold, Matilda. Get out!" She pouts, but then climbs out of the pool. I offer her my hand and she takes it. Her skin is so cold to the touch, but she quickly pulls away and shivers. I grab a towel from a nearby chair and wrap it around her. The water droplets sparkle in the soft light, and her dress clings to her curves, making them even more noticeable. I can't help but think of all the things I want to do to her. River joins me and lets out a lustful growl. I shake my head to clear my thoughts and dry her off. After drying her hair, I scoop her up in my arms. "I think it's time to go home," I say as I start walking back. Matilda snuggles into me and murmurs, "Mm, so warm." She hides her face in my chest and eventually stops shivering. "harvey," she whispers softly, lifting her head.
• Matilda’s voice sends shivers down my spine as she speaks my name. My heart races as she moves closer to me, her sweet scent filling my senses. I can barely contain myself as she whispers in my ear, "You smell so delicious." She presses her face into my neck and I have to fight the urge to mark her as mine.
• I take her home and set her down in front of the fireplace. I tell her to stay put as I run to grab a towel. When I come back, she's standing there in a lacy red lingerie, her curves barely covered. I can feel my desire rising, but I know I have to resist.
