Chapter 5
- It's 1 AM and I'm in the gym, when my dad mind-links me. He's using his Alpha tone, which means something's wrong and he's mad. It's hard to say no to an Alpha, especially the Alpha of all Alphas, but it's easy to get away with it when it's your dad. I wasn't planning on saying no anyway.
- I rush to my room to get cleaned up and then go see my dad in his office. It's not unusual for him to work late these days, since tensions are high among a few packs and he has to make sure no wars start. What is unusual, though, is that he still has to. He wants to pass the title down to me, but I'm not allowed to take over until I find my mate. I've tried convincing him that these rules are outdated, but he won't listen. It wasn't a big deal for him since he found my mom the day he turned 21, but I've been waiting for five years and it still hasn't happened for me.
- I knock on his door and then enter when I hear him say, "Hey dad, what's wrong?" He tells me my brother has been in a fight with Alpha Price's son, and he's angry. Louis is usually the calm one in our family, so it doesn't make sense. I ask him how he found out, and he says Alpha Price called him. He's not happy, and my dad's worried about how to stop a war if his own son is picking fights with other packs.
