Chapter 42
- Something heavy is weighing me down, trapping me in place. I try to break free, but I'm unable to move. Fear of being stuck in an unknown place fills my mind as my eyes open. Gradually, the blurry image of a ceiling comes into focus. I turn around and see Harvey’s peaceful face. He's still asleep and it's his arm around me that's keeping me from getting away.
- I manage to roll over and face him, admiring his beautiful features. I can't help myself and lightly brush my finger across his forehead, nose, and cheeks. His eyes flutter open, revealing his bright grey eyes.
- "Hey you," I whisper, cupping his face in my hand. He gives me a warm smile that makes my heart flutter. He takes my wrist and brings my hand to his lips, kissing it softly before returning it to his cheek. He doesn't let go of my wrist, his thumb tracing circles on the back of my hand.
