Chapter 64 Mr CEO
- The conference room buzzed with subdued tension as the board members of the Dominic Corporation filed in, each dressed in their most intimidating suits. Zade sat at the head of the long, polished mahogany table, his expression unreadable. He could feel their gazes on him—some wary, some calculating, and a few outright defiant.
- By now he was sure they had all heard news that he had lost his wife. He had kissed Elora this morning before coming to work, made love to her. He felt bad for Elora in a way. She knew his wife loved to be free, knew she loved her job, and now she was forced to live in hiding. His little bird needed to fly free, not stay locked up like a prisoner. He hated Peter and Ambrose for taking that away from her.
- Ambrose Dominic, now sporting a bruised nose from Zade’s fist two days prior, stood at the far end of the room. Despite the injury, he maintained an air of authority. He cleared his throat, silencing the whispers.
