Zade and Elora were having lunch, and for a moment, as they ate and occasionally gazed at each other, Elora felt as though all her problems had disappeared and life was perfect again. She had been violated, mistreated, discriminated against, suffered a miscarriage, and uncovered disturbing truths about her past. But spending time with Zade made her forget all those things.
She had spent the entire day with Dain working on the conference, and the entire event had been a success. Elora and Dain presented the advertising deal with absolute precision, gaining numerous new investors and clients for their advertising firm. Their boss would be proud. Zade and Elora were celebrating one last time before boarding their flight to return home. Elora was already tired of staying in this foreign country. Although everyone she hated was back in her home city, she missed her Granny Pimrose dearly.
She had called Granny every day since she arrived to ensure she was okay. Granny, now free from the Emmersons, sounded stronger and happier—a source of immense relief for Elora. She couldn’t wait to return home and tell Granny everything she had discovered. With all their belongings packed and loaded onto Zade’s private jet, all that remained after lunch was to drive to the airport.
