Chapter 10 The Vow
- ZADE’S POV
- Zade wasn’t sure how it happened, but the pretty little liar had gotten under his skin. Ever since he saved Elora Emmerson, things hadn’t been adding up. One minute she was talking about how she wanted to talk to the police and make the bastard that hurt her pay, and the next she was telling him it was none of his business and that she was fine.
- Elora may have acted okay and smiled and pretended that she wasn’t hurt, but Zade knew lies when he saw them. He could always read someone’s eyes. When he first met the girl, crying at the Emmerson company, he could see sadness in her eyes. At the hospital when she had just woken up, he saw vengeance in them and even just now, as she struggled to make him believe that nothing was wrong, he saw a deep sadness and emptiness in her eyes.
