Chapter 59 A Common Enemy

  • It was a cold and gloomy night. The ocean waves were aggressive as they crashed against the rocks. Ambrose and Peter stood on a cliff, looking down at the waters. For a second, Peter thought about pushing Ambrose to his death—watching him flail his hands in panic, watching gravity pull him onto the rocks waiting below the cliffs.
  • Ambrose had brought Peter to his private villa and warehouse far out of town. The sky was cloudy, with no moon or stars in sight. Although it threatened to rain, Ambrose made no move to show Peter into the villa. He had only shown Peter the expansive warehouse, gone on a rant about there being more than a hundred guards protecting the place, and then walked him to the cliff.
  • Peter Emmerson and Ambrose Dominic had been friends for most of their lives, but they both knew it was all a façade. They lived in a world where power meant everything, and both knew that if one had the opportunity to seize it from the other, they wouldn’t hesitate. Fortunately for Ambrose, he held all the power, and Peter badly wanted it for himself.
